80-1555. The township board of any township located in a county having a population of more than twelve thousand (12,000) and less than fourteen thousand (14,000), with an assessed valuation of more than forty-two million dollars ($42,000,000) and less than forty-eight million dollars ($48,000,000), may contract with any organized fire district located in such county to enable such fire district to purchase fire fighting equipment. The board of township trustees may pay such sum of money as deemed reasonable and necessary for the purchase of such fire fighting equipment, such sum to be paid from the general fund of the township or from any other available source. All such contracts shall fix the terms and conditions under which the fire district agrees to purchase fire protection equipment and shall also provide for the terms and conditions upon which the township and the fire district are to cooperate in furnishing any equipment necessary to provide adequate protection; and the method of payment therefor shall be expressly stipulated.
