68-505. Before entering upon his duties the county engineer shall give a bond unto the state of Kansas with surety to be approved by the board of county commissioners in the sum $2,500, conditioned upon the faithful discharge of his duties and the protection, care and return of all property of the county which may come into his custody: Provided, Where the county engineer districts have been formed the bond shall be made payable to the state of Kansas for use of each county forming such district.
