1. In garnishment proceedings in federal court, Rule 69 (a), makes federal method of service controlling rather than Kansas code. Rumsey v. George E. Failing Company, 333 F.2d 960, 961, 962.

2. "Appearance" under K.S.A. 60-255(a) is not limited to filing an answer, taking of judgment hereunder considered. Jones v. Main, 196 Kan. 91, 92, 95, 410 P.2d 303.

3. Attorney for corporate garnishee not precluded from signing and verifying garnishee's answer. Ten Eyck v. Harp, 197 Kan. 529, 534, 419 P.2d 922.

4. In statutory remedy of garnishment, issues of fact are triable to court; jury trial may not be demanded as a matter of right. Bollinger v. Nuss, 202 Kan. 326, 342, 449 P.2d 502.

15. Intervenor in post-garnishment proceeding is not bound by time limit of subsection (c) but must intervene in timely manner. Dailey v. Walden, 7 Kan. App. 2d 712, 714, 715, 716, 648 P.2d 258 (1982).

16. Where garnishee files an answer denying liability, and the 20-day period for contesting the garnishee's answer has passed, the plaintiff is precluded from testing the sufficiency of the answer. Kansas Sand & Concrete, Inc. v. Lewis, 8 Kan. App. 2d 91, 96, 97, 650 P.2d 718 (1982).
