39-791. Upon the date payments commence under title XIX of the federal social security act as authorized by subsection (g)(1)(A) of section 303 and amendments thereto of the federal medicare catastrophic coverage act of 1988 for calendar quarters beginning on and after September 30, 1989, the provisions of K.S.A. 39-785, 39-786, 39-787, 39-788, 39-789 and 39-790 are hereby suspended. The provisions of this section shall expire on the date payments under title XIX of the federal social security act authorized by subsection (g)(1)(A) of section 303 and amendments thereto of the federal medicare catastrophic coverage act of 1988 cease to be made pursuant to an act of the congress of the United States which repeals such section or directs that payments authorized under subsection (g)(1)(A) of such section not be made.
