Attorney General's Opinions:

Filing of petition on referral by SRS or other person; filing by individual; authority of SRS to file child in need of care petitions. 85-26.

School attendance, curriculum and accreditation; responsibility to investigate home instruction. 85-159.

Postadjudicatory proceedings; duties of county attorney. 86-3.

County attorney and county counselor; duties; juvenile matters. 92-67.

Attorney fees assessed in child in need of care actions are not civil judgments and cannot be collected as such. 1999-61.

CASE ANNOTATIONS

1. When child involved in involuntary proceeding may be Indian, notice must be served on tribe or Secretary of Interior. In re H.D., 11 Kan. App. 2d 531, 536, 538, 729 P.2d 1234 (1986).
